FAQ
Questions we get asked before anyone hires us.
Straight answers, including the ones that are simply no. Pick a theme below, or work through the lot. If your question is not here, ask us directly.
01
Getting started
The first few steps, and what to expect before any money changes hands.
What actually happens in the free audit?
A 30-minute call where we look at your website, your search visibility, your social channels and any ads you are running. We tell you what we see, plainly, and follow up with a one-page written summary within two business days. There is no charge, and no obligation to hire us.
What should I have ready for the audit call?
Your website address is enough to start. Links to your social and ad accounts help, but no password is needed at this stage. If you have nothing yet, that is the normal starting point.
I do not know what I need yet. Can I still get in touch?
Yes, and it is how most people arrive. You do not need to choose a service before you talk to us. The audit exists to work out what you need first, and sometimes the honest answer is that you need very little.
How long between first contact and work starting?
The audit call is usually within a few days. If we are a fit, you get a written quote within two business days of that call, and most projects begin within one to two weeks of the quote being accepted.
Can you take over work someone else started?
Often, yes, and it is frequently the cheapest path. We audit what you have first and keep whatever is sound. If starting again would genuinely cost you less than repairing it, we will say so.
02
Pricing and contracts
What things cost, what is included, and how easily you can stop.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the same job costs different amounts for different businesses. Your price is built from a few known factors and given to you as a fixed, itemised figure in writing before any work begins, so you decide with the number in front of you.
Is the quoted price fixed, or does it move?
It is fixed for the scope we agree, and itemised so you can see what each part costs. If you ask for something outside that scope, we quote it separately and wait for your yes before doing the work.
Is the ad budget part of your fee?
No. The ad budget is paid directly to Google or Meta, on your own account, and kept separate from our fee. You stay in control of the spend and can see exactly where every dollar goes.
What is the notice period to stop monthly work?
Ongoing work runs month to month. Thirty days notice is all it takes to stop. There is no long contract to escape and no cancellation fee.
Do your prices go up over time?
Your agreed price holds for the scope we agreed. For ongoing work, we review it at a point we set in advance, never mid-month and never by surprise. If a change would cost you more, you hear it first, with the reason.
03
Working together
Who you deal with, how you reach them, and how changes actually get made.
Who will I actually be talking to?
The specialist who writes your quote does the work and answers your messages. You have one point of contact from the first call through to the handover.
How do we communicate day to day?
By email, for anything on the record such as scope, quotes, approvals and decisions, and for quick questions too. We also hold a short monthly call to walk through the report and agree the next month.
How do I ask for a change?
Send it by email. We tell you whether it sits inside the agreed scope, which is included, or is a variation, which is quoted first. Either way, nothing is done until you have said yes.
Will my account get senior attention?
Yes. Senior specialists plan your work and senior specialists deliver it, from the first call through to the monthly report. There is no account manager layer, and no hand-off to a junior.
What are your working hours, and when will I hear back?
Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm (Hong Kong time). Messages sent during business hours are answered the same business day. Anything that arrives in the evening or at the weekend is answered on the next business day.
04
Results and reporting
How long things take, how you will know it is working, and what we will never promise.
How long until we see results?
It depends on the work. Paid ads can show movement within the first few weeks. SEO usually takes three to six months before it is reliable, and often longer in a competitive market. A new website starts converting from the day it launches. Anyone promising results overnight is guessing.
What is in the monthly report?
Six parts: the month in one line, what we did, what it produced against the month before and the same month last year, what the ad budget cost and where it went, two or three recommendations in priority order, and anything that needs your decision. Every number comes from an account you can open yourself.
Do you guarantee results?
No, and nobody honestly can. We do not promise a ranking, a fixed number of leads or a set cost per lead, because the search results and the ad auction are set by the market. Our commitment is to the strategy, the execution and reporting you can check line by line.
How do you measure whether it is working?
From your own accounts: Google Analytics 4, Search Console, the ad platforms and your social insights. We agree the measure of success with you at the start, in writing, so we are both judging the same number.
What counts as success?
Usually enquiries, booked calls or sales. When the goal is awareness, we say so and measure it differently, and we never present reach as a result.
05
Tools and ownership
Who holds the keys, what you keep, and what happens if we ever part ways.
Who owns the website, the accounts and the data?
You do, from day one. Every account is set up in your name, so you can open it yourself at any time.
What happens if I leave?
You keep your domain, your website, your accounts, your content and your data. Any assets we built are delivered within five business days of the final invoice, we attach no leaving fee, and we remove our own access and confirm in writing that we have.
Do I need to arrange my own hosting?
No. We set the website up and keep it running, but it is held in an account you control, so you can take it over or move it whenever you like. Hosting is a running cost, and we show you exactly what it is.
Will I be able to update the website myself?
Yes, for simple changes. You get a handover session that shows you how. If you would rather not touch it at all, keeping it updated is part of ongoing work.
Do you own the content you create for us?
No, you do. The copy, the pages we design and the images we produce for you are yours. The only thing we ever ask is permission before we mention a piece of work as an anonymised example, and even then, never your name or logo.
06
Hong Kong specifics
The local details: language, payments, invoicing and meeting up.
Can you work in the language my customers use?
That depends on the language, and we will tell you honestly on the audit call whether we are the right fit for your market. It is better to know now than to find out later.
Do you work with businesses outside Hong Kong?
We work with Hong Kong start-ups and growing businesses, in Hong Kong time. That is the work we know best: the local platforms, the search behaviour and the payment methods.
How do I pay, and do you invoice?
You are invoiced directly. Bank transfer and FPS are both fine, and the quote sets out the terms in clear language before anything starts.
Are you a registered business?
Yes. SparkEvo is a registered Hong Kong business, and the registration number appears in the footer of every page and on every invoice. If you cannot tell who you are dealing with, that is a fair reason not to hire them.
Do you meet in person?
Meetings are remote by default, which keeps things quick and lets us share a screen. In person is possible by appointment for businesses in Hong Kong. You choose.
Still stuck
Still not answered?
If your question is not here, ask us directly and we will answer it in clear language, even when the answer is no. A short message is enough to start, and there is never a charge for asking.
